STYLING NOTES ON OUR 20 BEST LIFTING WIGS for 2005

MERCURY: Technically, a bob wig like Mercury should not be on a page about lifting wigs. But the bang has just enough pick-me-up, and the sides can tuck under OR flip out a bit, so MERCURY gets our vote for the best short lifting bob in 2005.

POWER by Raquel Welch is without a doubt, one of the most remarkable short lifting wigs we have EVER seen. And you getthe "lift effect" without the use of ANY styling creams if you like. It stands up all on it's own. It's only qualifier is it's head size. It is average, but 1/4 inch smaller than other averages.

ALLURE by Jon Renau has the ability to be styled down or up. A little wig styling cream or spray will hold it in the up way, and even if you bring it down, it has short layers which can be turned up for the lift.

BOOST's name says it, This is short but there is HIGH VOLUME here to create a bit of "formality" in an easy sort of way. The volume tames easy enough, but you have to be able to handle volume.

MEGAN by Noriko is a classic here at WigSalon. Amazingly versatile, you can brush it UP for decent volume, push it sideways for a semi -lift, or down for a tame look with a bit of bounce still. You'd swear this is mono construction by the way the fibers swivel. We love this wig.

RENEE is a hand-tied wig. This process allows the fibers to separate in a way that machine-made wigs can not. It's not inexpensive, but if you are looking for a new standard in synthetic wig quality, Renee by Rene of Paris is it.

DREW by Noriko is the best of the feminine crew cuts for women. Revlon started this fashion long ago, but Noriko cut the volume down just a tad so it does not have too full of a look. Still, be prepared for some volume up there. If less volume is what you seek, revert to the Power wig.

DIXIE PIXIE is a mono version of POWER by Raquel Welch. It is a bit longer than Power, probably because it is more expensive and hence, they want to gibe you the option of cutting it down to suit you if need be. Select DIVIE PIXIE if you need MONO for comfort reasons and that short crew cut look is o good option for you.

ARIES by Revlon and SHORT STUFF by Raquel Welch both have decent volume, styling options and a comb me up attitude. We suggest choosing between them based on the colors.

MASON by Noriko is the perfection of a short layered shag. Plenty of volume, but controls easy. World-wide, MAson is the best selling repeat wig over the last 5 years, and for good reason. It works & with no styling hassle.

Jazz is a short versatile layered wedge from Jon Renau that does well when folks are looking for a new style with a little more volume that is not all UP so to speak.

Breeze is just an amazing style by Raquel welch. It's shorter than it looks, but you can flip around with the side volume, open up an almost no bang look in the front, keeping hair off the face so breeze is a style that will work even if your face is smaller than average.

ACCLAIM by EVA GABOR is a short with with UP volume curls and TAPERED SIDES. It does so well they make it in THREE sizes: Average, Petite and now LARGE. Email us after you order to specify size.

ANGEL by HENRY MARGU is here because some of you may prefer a bit more length. Angel has a scant bag, but somehow you can get a little lift from it too. She is a real nice medium bob.

BEVERLY is the mono version of Megan by Noriko. In case you did not know, Rene of Paris and Noriko are the same wig makers. Select Beverly if you want the comfort of mono. PLenty of versatility. It's like you can control the volume with your pick.

Colette is a bob style by Henry Margu that picks up in the bang AND has what we call a peek-aboo effect. YOu sort of have to peek through the bangs. Its a young style in a sexy way and definitelt belongs in a pageof lifting wigs. She has been around for a while. She is hard to improve on, so they keep her. :)

SKY by Noriko has come on as the best new style in many years quite quickly. It's subtle lifting effect is not trite, but indeed done in a new way, thinned but with enough body to get the job done. One of these styles that almost anyyone can benefit form.

Olivia is new from Henry Margu. Her short bangs fold under, just like you see, and you tease up a lift - real easy . Conservative perfection.

Joey by Rene of Paris has BIG POUF potential while the sides taper. Just be sure you are looking for a big front if you select Joey. The hair is THIN, but long enough to curl under, creating the "lift". She is not heavy. a sort of cotton candy pouf.
